Team Canada Hockey

Because of the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, I decided to start a small series of drawings focussed on winter sports, with the hopes of being able to showcase some of my work around the timing for the Games. Here are some ink drawings I've been working on over the course of the last two months based on images I've collected of Team Canada victories in both men's and women's ice hockey. No doubt 2010 will bring more victories for Canada in hockey, and many other winter sports areas. My hope is to also put together an abstract acrylic painting to go with this theme - I hope to start that this weekend in fact.

Here are 3 of the images I've worked on recently, using my "texture factory" technique using pen and ink:

These are all really cool!! I love your ink drawings! Have you seen the hockey jerseys for sale at the Bay? They have a funky design over the maple leaf with all kinds of "canadian things" in native styling... it's hard to describe. Looks neat though. You can see it here: http://2010vanfan.ca/2009/08/18/177-days-until-the-opening-ceremonies-178-days-until-olympic-hockey-starts/
